Kansas City PBS firmly believes that it is paramount for everyone in our community to pull together and support each other during this challenging time. For the health and safety of our supporters, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Kansas City PBS Viking Experience event scheduled for Friday, May 29 at Union Station.

Kansas City PBS is in communication with the staff at Union Station, and we will keep you up-to-date on any new information about the opening of the exhibit later this year.

Join Kansas City PBS for a members-only evening at Vikings: Warriors of the North, Giants of the Sea at Union Station, the world’s largest touring viking exhibition in the world! Vikings explores beyond the legend and dives into the culture, commerce and technology of vikings! This adventure promises to educate, fascinate and capture the imaginations of every age, including history buffs, armchair adventurers, and the nature enthusiasts among us!

Engage in a behind-the-scenes conversation with the exhibit curator, Peter Pentz,  about the creation of Vikings and explore the latest findings by renowned Danish archaeologists in this 15,000 sq. feet exhibition. Take a journey through the six exhibit galleries to discover the viking way of life as told through more than 650 spectacular artifacts.

The KCPBS Viking Experience includes:

  • Private food & beverage reception with KCPBS members
  • Behind-the-scenes discussion with the Vikings: Warriors of the North, Giants of the Sea exhibit curator
  • One (1) ticket per person to the KCPBS Viking Experience (for use on event date)

KCPBS has organized this event in partnership with Union Station Kansas City.

Grammy Award-winning producer David Foster is embarking on an extensive North American tour beginning January of 2020 and ending at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts on January 17, 2021. The tour, An Intimate Evening with David Foster: Hitman Tour, is an extension of his highly successful and sold-out 2019 tour.

Foster, who is one of the biggest musical forces of our time, created this jaw-dropping musical extravaganza that includes the greatest hits of his career. Thrilling, humorous and refreshingly honest, David Foster performs songs he wrote or produced from his four decades of hits and includes fascinating storytelling about the songs, artists, and moments of his life. Delivered by powerhouse performers, the hits include Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” Whitney Houston’s “The Bodyguard,” Earth Wind and Fire’s “After The Love Is Gone,” Chicago’s ”You’re The Inspiration,” Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up,” Michael Bublé’s “Home,” Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable,” and many more.

Joining the 16-time Grammy Award-winning writer/producer this time around will be singer/actress Katharine McPhee. Katharine joins David fresh off her Broadway and West End run of the hit Broadway musical Waitress. Katharine will join David for a number of his well-known songs including The Prayer.
