The Politics of Gen Z @ Pierson Auditorium
Oct 25 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Join the Kansas City Media Collective as we explore the political engagement of Generation Z.

According to the Pew Research Center, Generation Z (those born between 1997 and 2012) the most racially and ethnically diverse generation is on track to be the most well-educated generation. From racial equity to climate change, Generation Z’s views could have a big impact on the future of our nation’s political landscape. With this generation making up at least one tenth of the electorate, what motivates some Gen Z-ers to be politically active while others choose a different path to civic engagement?

Join the Kansas City Media Collective on October 25th as we explore the political engagement of Generation Z! This is the second event in our series of community conversations that seek to bring journalism and community together.

This event is hosted by the KC Media Collective. Members of the KC Media Collective Include:

Jan 26 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Hindsight, Insight: Four Former Mayors Appraise KC @ Kansas City Public Library, Plaza Branch | Kansas City | Missouri | United States

This doesn’t happen often…

Four former mayors of Kansas City share the same stage in this televised event at the Truman Auditorium of the Kansas City Plaza Library.

It’s a pre-Mayoral and City Council election forum that would lift the hood on City Hall and the myths and realities of running the city.

Kansas City PBS partners with the KC Public Library and the Citizens Association in bringing together Emanuel Cleaver, Kay Barnes, Mark Funkhouser and Sly James.

This event will be recorded and portions will be featured in an hourlong Kansas City Week in Review special, airing on February 3.
