19L (ONE NINE LEFT) is a documentary film about the largest public art project in Kansas City history and the 19 local artists tasked with creating Kansas City’s first impression at Kansas City International Airport. In 2021, Kansas City extended an open call to local artists for an opportunity to share their work with travelers from all over the world. 188 local artists applied for the honor. This is the story of the 19 who were selected.

Join us for a screening of the film and a panel discussion with some of the artists featured at the new terminal. The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art will host the event in their Atkins Auditorium. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for Kansas City PBS members and 5:45 p.m. for all attendees. The screening will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the panel discussion will follow.

An Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE) is not your average playground! It naturally draws children (and adults!) outside with fun spaces for play and learning, and it has health benefits, too.
